I HAVE A PERHAPS IRRATIONALLY INTENSE AMOUNT OF FEELINGS ABOUT ALL THE TRAPPINGS HEAD!GAIUS CONSTANTLY CARRIES. But that’s probably a post for gifs where he’s holding the cigarette (THAT FUCKING CIGARETTE) (FUCKING HIGH PERFORMANCE BASED OFF THE PIECES WITH WHICH WE WERE VISUALLY INTRODUCED TO THE CHARACTERS) (FUCKING EVERYTHING IN THIS EPISODE FUCK).

I will, say, though—obsessed with the different ways head!Six and head!Gaius respectively establish tactility for each other; she’s always, always reaching out for him (see also: on the bench), always grounding herself in him (like here you literally have props; i.e. SOMETHING TANGIBLE), while as established in his head we see nothing but her taking him in hand. She reaches, he submits, head!she shapes, and head!he offers from just out of easy reach; they’re each soft on their own terms as they imagine the other so much harder than they really are. (The head!selves: the glossy, unscuffed, beloved and surpassingly vicious versions of what they see in each other, whose voices are the only way they can listen to the worst parts of themself.)

Oh c’mon, who’s shocked that this is #1? Nobody? Dang.

Yeah okay, I love this scene so much I had to put a gif in it (can’t put a ring on it, so). I’m pretty sure @correspond will be able to attest that I probably whooped a little and sniffled a fair amount during this scene.

No matter how screwed up at parts the series finale was (I’ll still defend it to the death, mind you), their arc was perfect: they destroyed the world together and were separated and found their salvation fighting against the Cylons, and then, their peace on this little planet named after a dream. They could lay down their burdens (for real, this time) and start afresh and he’s reconciled with his past and she has found whatever she’s looking for. They’ve come to a full circle and they’re getting this happy ending with the domesticity and the farmhouse and the 2.5 hybrid kids and the shipper in me just can’t be more flaily.

WE ACTUALLY HAD IT ALLLLLLLLLLL.

You know what kills me about this scene, apart from the obvious, is that Gaius is really trying to be brave.  I mean he didn’t run away or anything, he had to stand there in front of his staff and be like “‘Sup, Cylons? What are you guys doing here?” I’m not a Baltar apologist in most things but I am when it comes to this.

Also this is Caprica-Six trying to be discreet. THEY ARE NOT GOOD AT THE THINGS THEY’RE TRYING TO DO.
